About Felt Beautiful
The story so far, 8 years and growing strong.
About me
My name is Louise, and I’m based in Bridlington on the beautiful Yorkshire Coast, and the little bundle of mischief in the background is Fergus! I'm a wife, mum of three, and the proud owner of a cockerpoo who keeps me company while I create fairy decorations, gifts and keepsakes. Needle felting has been my passion for over eight years now, ever since...
Where it started
...my sister - pregnant with her first baby - asked me to create a nursery mobile for her.
She sent me countless Pinterest examples of the ones she liked, most of which had been made using the needle felting technique. Excited by the idea, I decided to give it a go!
I gathered the materials and tools I needed, envisioned a design, and got started. Within minutes, I was completely hooked. The process was mesmerizing, and I felt so proud of my finished creation (even though I only have one picture left, and it's not the best!). That moment sparked a passion that has stayed with me ever since.
How it's grown
What started with that one little nursery mobile soon grew into something I never could have imagined. One fairy became ten… then a hundred… and before long I found myself creating thousands of tiny woollen characters, each with their own personality. Every fairy I make still carries that same spark of joy I felt on day one - a quiet moment of magic shaped by hand, heart, and a bit of mischief from Fergus in the background.

What is Needle Felting?
Needle felting is a dry sculpting technique that uses special barbed needles to shape wool into intricate 3D forms. Inspired by Waldorf artistry, these felted creations remain faceless, inviting you to imagine their expressions in your own way. Since wool is a natural by-product, everything I make is eco-friendly - helping us do our part for the planet!
